- Precautions for Mole Removal Procedure.
- If you remove Duoderm after the recommended application time, we recommend using a regenerating ointment afterward. During the daytime, it is important to apply sunscreen thoroughly, even if you are indoors. Combining regeneration cream and sunscreen will help recovery without pigmentation.
- Keep Duoderm patch on the treatment site is recommended for 1 to 2 weeks. The Duoderm should be changed every 2 to 3 days. If you notice any oozing from the perimeter of the Duoderm, you can replace it even if it hasn’t been on for a day. Duoderm is waterproof, UV protected, and maintains a moist environment, which greatly aids in healing process.
- If the pigment is very deeply located, it may be difficult to remove it completely in a single treatment. In this case, we recommend multiple treatments spaced at least three months apart. Trying to completely remove deep spots in a single session can cause damage to the skin.
- Even if a mole disappears after a mole removal procedure, melanocytes remain and may reappear. If a mole reappears, you can have the procedure done again after 3 months from the initial removal.
